Faustus has been trading in antiquities and ancient jewellery from Jermyn Street, and more recently, Dover Street, for over forty years, and specialising in ancient jewellery for the past 20 years. We are very long time members of the Antiquities Dealers Association.
The stock comprises wearable original ancient rings, earrings, bracelets and pendants in gold with some silver, mainly from the Roman world but embracing Greek, Hellenistic, Egyptian, Near Eastern and Byzantine from 2nd millennium BC to the medieval period.
Every item is unconditionally guaranteed and is sold with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Gold is almost impervious to time, so ancient jewellery has often survived in near pristine condition. Jewellery is one of the closest links with the past: it was an intimate precious possession of an individual yet, at the same time, in terms of the materials from which it was made, it reflected the economic power and ever expanding trade routes of the civilisation that produced it.
